Heartbeat (“we”) provides a private, couples-only mobile app (iOS & Android) for encrypted messaging, calls, heartbeat taps, shared moments, streaks, and milestones.
You must be at least 16 (or the age of digital consent in your country) and able to form a binding contract. Heartbeat is intended for consensual, paired use between two people.
You sign up with an email and receive a 12-word recovery phrase. You are responsible for keeping it safe. If lost, encrypted history cannot be recovered — even by us, by design. Do not share your recovery phrase.
Heartbeat is a sanctuary, not a social network. You agree not to harass, impersonate, spam, reverse-engineer, or attempt to break encryption or pairing. One account per person; pairing is strictly 1:1.
You and your partner own your content. Because it is end-to-end encrypted, we cannot moderate message content. You remain responsible for what you send. Media you capture is shared only with your paired partner.
You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Settings. Deletion erases your account and both partners’ media. Recovery phrases are never stored server-side.
We work hard to keep Heartbeat available, but we provide it “as is” without warranties. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Your exclusive remedy is to stop using the app.
